I visited Seoul for a few days pre-pandemic. It would be awesome to go back. I barely scratched the surface after visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace and walking around Myeongdong. Have you been to Seoul? If so, what did you do there?

I haven’t, but I’d love to go because, as silly as it sounds, I’m a big fan of M*A*S*H, and of course Seoul was a hot spot for their R&R on the show. That aside, though, the history there must be incredible! Why were you only there for a few days? Was it a group tour type of thing?

^ At that time, my partner and I were supposed to meet friends in another Asian country. I won’t get into particulars, but the plans got derailed. So, Seoul it was.
If you plan a trip there, I would recommended avoiding summer unless you plan on being out only late at night or early morning. It’s so humid then. You’ll still have fun, no matter what!

If you go again, do visit the National Museum of Korea. It is huge and has a large amount of objects at display. The pond outside the museum looks nice as well. You would need a few hours to explore the museum. -

Is winter a good time to be there? I hope it doesn’t get too cold. Did you try any local delicacy? If so, how was your experience? -

I’ve never been, but it sounds amazing, Quruli. I guess I have another destination to add to my bucket list.
Anjali, thanks for sharing a list of cool places to visit in Korea. Would I need to speak Korean, in order to tour those areas?

If so, how was your experience?I heard that fall and spring are good seasons to go, and I’ve been told that winter is freezing! The only street food I had egg toast. In the short time we were there, the best meal was seafood kalguksu (noodle soup with fish and shellfish) at a small restaurant by our hotel (Fraser). I didn’t get the name, but we were the only customers when they opened for the day. We feasted!
