India has some incredible tourist destinations but I have mostly been to northern and southern parts of India.
Though I have travelled to only some of these places but as per my research and curiosity to know about different locations, I have compiled this list.
North:
New Delhi – The capital and a big metropolitan city. Various places of cultural, historical, and political significance.
Hilly areas of J&K, Himachal and Uttarakhand – Some pretty amazing and breathtaking hills and mountains. Numerous temples and places of worship. Various trekking sites and cafes to relax and chill. Rishikesh, Manali, Dharamshala, Shimla, Dehradun, etc. are some of the beautiful towns/cities that come to my mind while writing this.
Punjab – Well-known for its food and culture. Golden Temple is a famous religious site.
Taj Mahal in Agra is one of the seven wonders of the world. Varanasi and Ayodhya are a couple of must-visit cities.
South:
Bangalore – Also known as the Silicon Valley of India, is a modern city with a lot of IT companies located here.
Ooty is a cozy hill station and the weather is surprising cooler than some of the other sites in southern part of India.
Munnar, Mysuru, Hampi, Gokarna are some other places to explore.
There are a lot of beach destinations with awesome views and nice seafood. Backwaters of Kerala and the spices of various states are quite famous.
Many temples can be visited here as well.
I think I would have missed a lot of other great places but this can be a good starting point. Let me know if you already have been here or some other nice spots nearby and I would love to explore them in future.
