Is Havana open to American tourists? I’ve always wanted to go there, particularly to take in the historical sites and rich architecture. What would I need to visit the city?
Yes, Havana is open to Americans, but you need to travel under one of the allowed categories, most used “Support for the Cuban People.” Stay in local guesthouses and support small businesses. You’ll also need a Tourist card, which many airlines provide. Havana is infact very historical with a militant past too. You should take the trip. All the best.

doesn’t really matter. I enjoy both. Group trips are for family & friend, Solo trip I get more me time but can get a bit lonely if the trip is too long.

I like traveling with others. I’ve even joined a tour group with strangers before and had a blast. We got to know one another along the way. It made the trip more fun.
Sounds like an amazing experience.. Tour groups with strangers can really turn into unexpected friendships. Do you think you’d do it again, or do you prefer sticking to people you already know?

Unfortunately, no matter where you go, you might have to quarantine your pet for a number of days upon entry to another country. I’d check out their laws first before heading off. The Bahamas are supposedly pet friendly. I believe your pet would need to get some additional vaccinations, though.
Good point @DannyJ, checking entry requirements and vaccinations ahead of time is really important when traveling with pets. Thanks for sharing this tip!

Are you in the US? There’s a dog-centered cruise that leaves out of Tampa and is sailing to the Caribbean in November. You’ll need to provide proof that your pup’s vaccinations are up to date, but there’s no quarantine requirement or anything like that. It sounds like a promising trip.

I’ve always wanted to Travel to Norway and Dubai for some weird reason. Probably because they both look picture perfect on Instagram.

Gosh, I can’t imagine traveling without my wife. Partly because she’s fun to be around, and partly because we’ve gotten old enough that we have to help each other out. Sometimes my body and brain works the best and sometimes it’s the other way around.

Hey everyone, is this forum still active? I’m new here! I’m planning a budget trip to the Caribbean and this topic has been really helpful so far. From what I’ve seen, flights tend to be cheaper if you’re flexible with your dates, travel during the off-season, or use tools like Google Flights and Hopper to track prices. I also don’t mind taking a short layover flight if it saves some money. Right now I’m hoping to find something in the US$400–500 range. Which islands have you all found to be the cheapest to fly into recently? And do you have any personal tricks or apps you use to grab good deals? Thanks, excited to learn from everyone here!
