JulesFebruary 24, 2025 at 12:13 pm::I haven’t, but I’d love to go because, as silly as it sounds, I’m a big fan of M*A*S*H, and of course Seoul was a hot spot for their R&R on the show. That aside, though, the history there must be incredible! Why were you only there for a few days? Was it a group tour type of thing?

JulesFebruary 28, 2025 at 1:39 pm::Public transportation in foreign countries always makes me very nervous because I don’t even do well navigating public transportation here at home! I’m always afraid I’ll get on the wrong train and wind up really far away from where I intended to go. Good to know that Tokyo has signs in English, though. That helps to make things a little easier!

JulesMarch 2, 2025 at 2:42 pm::I upgrade as much as possible when traveling because I want the exclusive experience, but sometimes I cut corners. For example, instead of paying $500 for a private cabana at the beach, I’ll tip the towel guys $40 and ask them to set up my lounge chairs away from the crowd under a nice palm tree. That usually gets them to go above and beyond, and they’ll add a couple small tables and let the beach servers know to be attentive.

My main focus is to stick to populated, well-lit areas. Also, trust your gut. If you’re in a place that’s giving you a creepy feeling, get out of there.
