Montego Bay, Kingston, Ochi and Negril are most popular travel destinations in Jamaica. To experience some of the less popular Hidden gems of-the-beaten-path kinda vibe. You can try out Treasure Beach on the South Cost with pristine white sand beaches, YS Falls or Mandeville, Portland is also very beautiful with plenty beautiful rivers & watterfalls with lots of untouched forestry, if you love Hiking. Visit Accompong in the Cockpit country to experience the second culture of the Maroons, Hike the Blue Mountain, try a rum or coffee tour. There are other places around too you can find but these are off the top of my head now. All these destinations are very beautiful indeed and offers great experiences. Feel free to visit them all. These are few recommended tips; Firstly, look for more affordable islands such as Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Jamaica are great choices. Try to travel during the low or off-season such as May to early November for cheaper flights and accommodations. Skip the resorts and go for guesthouses or Airbnb, also they are often more authentic and way more affordable. Eat where the locals eat, use public transport to get around, and enjoy free activities like beaches and local festivals. You’ll save money and still get the full island experience.

Generally, the least expensive time to visit the Caribbean is during the off-season, which runs from mid-April through November this overlaps with hurricane season, so prices tend to drop. While exact costs can vary by island, you’ll often find the best deals across the board in September and October.

Hi Lisa, great question! The best time to experience Carnival in the Caribbean really depends on the island you’re planning to visit.

For example, Jamaica’s Carnival, called Bacchanal, usually peaks in April. Trinidad & Tobago has its world-famous Carnival in February or early March, just before Ash Wednesday. If you’re thinking of traveling to Barbados, their big celebration is called Crop Over and it ends with Grand Kadooment Day in early August. In Saint Lucia, Carnival wraps up around mid-July, and Grenada hosts Spicemas in August. The Dominican Republic celebrates Carnival all throughout February in different towns.
